Call for Applications and Nominations for "JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award"

The Journal of CO2 Utilization of Elsevier and the 22nd International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization would like to call for applications and nominations for the “JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award”.

The "JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award" is dedicated to recognizing and encouraging promising young researchers starting their independent career in the field of carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCUS). It highlights the essential role of young scholars in CCUS and aims to foster the next generation of leaders in this critical field. Early career researchers who wish to apply for the "JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award" must meet the following criteria:

1) have submitted an abstract for either an oral or a poster presentation at the 22nd ICCDU 2025 in Lisbon;

2) be under the age of 35 years old (born after January 1, 1990);

3) have published at least one paper in the Journal of CO2 Utilization in the last three years (2022 - 2024), as the first author or corresponding author preferably.

The application package including a personal statement, a CV, one reference letter and the PDF files of the published papers in the Journal of CO2 Utilization in the last three years (2022-2024), should be submitted HERE before March 31, 2025. The application package will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee members of ICCDU.

Award Benefits:

- The winner will receive a certificate of the “JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award” at the 22nd ICCDU 2025, of recognition of his/her promising independent career as young researcher in the field of carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCUS).

- The sponsorship of a monetary prize with the value of USD 1,000 (One Thousand US Dollars, exclusive of taxes)

The Journal of CO2 Utilization offers a single, multi-disciplinary, scholarly platform for the exchange of novel research in the field of CO2 re-use for scientists and engineers in chemicals, fuels and materials. The emphasis is on the dissemination of leading-edge research from basic science to the development of new processes, technologies and applications. This includes CO2 as a feedstock in the chemical, energy and materials sectors, and utilization in general to help minimize environmental impact.
