Welcome to ICCDU 2025

We are honored and pleased to invite academic, research and industrial professionals worldwide to participate in the 22nd International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization (ICCDU 2025) that we will be hosting for the first time in Lisbon, Portugal, on June 23-27, 2025. This 22nd edition of ICCDU will be organized jointly by IST-University of Lisbon and NOVA School of Science and Technology, in partnership with the Portuguese Society of Chemistry.

Under the theme "CO2 for a Circular Economy", ICCDU 2025 will follow the success of the previous annual editions of ICCDU series, in providing a vital platform for exchanging knowledge, innovative approaches, and driving pioneering solutions and sustainable technologies to accelerate the drive towards an effective circular carbon economy.

ICCDU 2025 aims to play a crucial role not only in disseminating the results of innovative cutting-edge research approaches for CO2 capture and utilization, but also in showing that in the present moment several of these approaches and solutions have reached high levels of maturity and TRLs through pilot-scale and real industrial-scale applications. The focus is on harnessing the power of science and technology to develop sustainable pathways for using carbon dioxide in various industries for production of energy, chemicals, materials, and fuels.

ICCDU 2025 will be held at the Congress Center of IST-University of Lisbon in the city's center. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, a welcoming and safe city where English is commonly spoken. We are sure that its cultural heritage, great weather and excellent gastronomy will create a perfect frame for a fruitful conference and contribute to make your experience even more memorable!

We look forward to welcoming all the participants of ICCDU 2025 in Lisbon for an inspiring exchange of the latest scientific results, fruitful discussions and fostering collaborations that will promote the transformative potential of CO2 as a resource rather than a waste product, for one of the most pressing challenges of our time – reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide and turning it into valuable products.

See you in Lisbon!
